New Website Coming Soon

I have been absent from adding new posts to this blog because I'm in the process of creating a new website and blog. Once it's done, this blog will be no longer and all of my old posts will be on my new website.

I'm excited to get it finished and share!

Welcome Baby Jaxon!

I had the pleasure of working with JoAnna on items for her wedding, her baby shower and, most recently, a birth announcement for her little one.

I had so much fun working on the fun text layouts for this one.

(Their last name has been changed to protect privacy.)

I love the colors, I love how we laid out the text and I love her little guy... can you tell I want to snuggle a newborn? The little elephant was used on JoAnna's baby shower invitations and accoutrement.

A heartfelt congratulations!!

Welcome Baby Logan!

Mahsa and Mel are friends of mine and when they had their second little boy, I was thrilled when they asked me to design a birth announcement for them.

Logan's big brother, Max is proud to introduce his baby brother to the world!

Jackie's Holiday Card

My sister, Jackie wanted to send out a holiday card to family and friends that gave a brief rundown of the events in her life in 2012. She didn't want to send a random card along with a letter like many families do; it's just not her style. Instead she asked me to come up with something fun that would suit her... and be the same size as the holiday cards that were on sale on VistaPrint.

I really love how it turned out.

She had a busy year, with some camping, hiking, a couple of races, CrossFit games, getting her CrossFit Level 1 Certification, and graduating from college. Quite a lot to be proud of!

This would make a great card for a family who had a lot going on in a year... maybe a lot of travel, or just one big trip, birthdays, graduations, milestones and/or a family reunion.

Holiday Card - 2012

2012 was a year chalked full of travel for us. I feel like I had vacation auto-reply set on my email at least once a month this year.

Rather than do something in watercolor like I have done in previous years, I did a fun collage that celebrated the trips we went on. I made sure to include one photo from home too. Luck was on my side and we had a big snow storm a couple of weeks before I ordered my holiday cards so I was able to get a great shot of my son next to his first snowman.

Photos: with a giant pot of gold in Macau, our toes on the beach in Hainan, first snowman at home in Utah, passed out in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland, on the subway in New York City, at the top of Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, and in Chinatown in Seattle.

I'm not happy that we have so few photos of just the three of us from our trip to China, especially since we rented a nice lens for that trip. But I am happy with what we do have and with how the finished card came out.

I had these printed through a sweet deal I got on VistaPrint and my son was thrilled to get to pick out the stamps we put on them (mostly Pixar stamps).

I hope everyone had a happy holiday (whichever one you celebrate), and a joyous new year!

Welcome Baby Audrey!

Kari and Nathan welcomed their first baby, a girl, this past September. A couple of weeks later they moved into their new house (escrow closed on her due date!).

Given the time of year, the move, and Audrey's arrival, we created a birth announcement, moving announcement and holiday card all in one! I love how it turned out.

(I changed their address to protect privacy.)

Welcome to the world Audrey! I can't wait to meet you!

Gary's Birthday

I was told Gary likes to wear Hawaiian shirts, all. the. time. So it was perfect that his family throw him a Hawaiian luau for his 60th birthday party. I worked with Gary's daughter, Cari on this project and we had a great time working with a "vintage-y" Hawaiian theme.

"Ho'olu komo la kaua" means "You're Invited" in Hawaiian.

Cari went with #10 sized envelopes from Paper Source in their "Night" color. The return address wraps around to the back.

Food labels for the yummy items in the buffet.

A sign for the front door:

It looks like it was an amazing party and I hope everyone had a wonderful time. Happy birthday Gary!
